What a visit covers
Family and primary care
One practice for the ordinary things and the ongoing ones, rather than a different provider for each.
Annual wellness and preventive visits
A yearly review of your history, the screenings you are due for, your medications, and your risk factors, with labs ordered and referrals arranged.
Acute illness
Coughs and colds, sinus infections, sore throats, urinary tract infections, rashes, and the everyday complaints that need attention this week rather than next month.
Chronic condition management
Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, asthma, and reflux, managed over time by the same provider rather than one visit at a time.
Lab ordering and review
Orders sent electronically to a draw site near you, then results gone through together so you understand what they mean and what changes as a result.
Prescriptions and refills
Sent directly to your pharmacy, with monitoring labs kept current and the medication list reviewed as a whole rather than drug by drug.
Referrals
When something needs a specialist, imaging, or a hands-on examination, you leave the visit with a referral and a clear next step instead of a shrug.
What this practice does not provide
The Florida NP provides primary care only. Psychiatric and mental health services are not offered, and specialized psychiatric medications are not managed or prescribed. The practice is also not an emergency or crisis service. For emergencies call 911; for a mental health crisis call or text 988.
Questions about visits
What can be treated by telehealth?
Most primary care: acute illnesses like sinus infections and urinary tract infections, ongoing conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, wellness visits, medication management, and lab review. Anything requiring a hands-on examination, imaging, or a procedure is referred in person.
Do I need to live in Florida?
You need to be physically located in Florida at the time of your appointment. That is a licensure requirement, and it applies to visitors and to Florida residents who happen to be out of state that day.
Is there a physical office I can visit?
No. The practice is telehealth only. Labs are done at a draw site near you and vaccines at a pharmacy or clinic near you.
What equipment do I need?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a reliable connection, and somewhere private to talk. A home blood pressure cuff is useful if you are being seen for blood pressure.
